Conversations over Coffee
Happy Friday, friends!
Today will be spent getting ready for a day full of family celebrations for Dex's birthday tomorrow! We will be doing (and eating) all of Dex's favorite things! And speaking of Dex's birthday- don't forget to enter the giveaway! Dex will be choosing the winner on Sunday! It's easy: just fill in the form at the bottom of this post with your name and email address- then you will get my post sent to your email starting next week!
Today is going to be short and sweet, but there were a few things I wanted to chat with you about-
Bryan has been eating strictly vegan for the last month for some health reasons and we are excited to try the new Upbeet restaurant in midtown Atlanta this weekend. They have smoothies, salads, grain bowls, etc. Plenty of great options for those of us who are vegan in our home and those of us who aren't.
We also tried a little Gluten Free/Allergen friendly bakery to get cupcakes for Dex's birthday celebration tomorrow. Dex doesn't do dairy or nuts so we were looking for a good option for him, as well as a cupcake Bryan could eat. The cupcakes are delicious, and Dex will get to taste his first sunbutter/chocolate cupcake tomorrow which, if he is anything like his momma, will spark a love for the peanut butter/chocolate combo! Check them out if you need a yummy treat that is allergy friendly!
I am super excited to have been selected to be on the launch team for Church of the Small Things by Melanie Shankle. (You can pre-order your copy now) This is my third launch team this year- I have gotten to read and promote 3 of my favorite authors this year which is such a huge honor for me. I have read all of Melanie's other books, and have laughed and cried all the way through. Stay tuned for a book review coming soon.
Lastly, at the Espy Awards last week, Tim Shriver accepted the Arthur Ashe award on behalf of his mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver. She was the founder of the Special Olympics. Michelle Obama gave a beautiful tribute and presented the award. It was such a beautiful speech of inclusion. I have watched it multiple times, and I am encouraging everyone to watch it. There is still so much more to be done in the way of inclusion! I'm serious- Tim Shriver for President anyone?
That's it for today! I am off to buy as many balloons as will fit in my house!
Until next time...
