Dining at Disney World

Dining at Disney World

Hi friends!

As I shared on Tuesday, the next few Fridays, I will be writing some posts on Disney World. Y'all know it's my favorite place in the whole world.

Disney is a magical place, anyway, and having food allergies and special diets are no exception. Disney is probably the best place to be if you have food allergies or special diets. In our house we run the gamut- Bryan is vegan, Dex is allergic to nuts and dairy, and Gus is allergic to egg, gluten and dairy. I am only allergic to macadamia nuts...but foods that trigger migraines are another story. Here is the thing to know- if you are going to a sit down restaurant, or a table service restaurant (as Disney calls it), they will accommodate any food allergy or special diet. The chef will come to your table and chat with you about the menu options they have, or if it is a buffet, they will walk you through and let you know what you can eat off the buffet, or what they can make especially for you. It is incredible. They are so conscious of food allergies especially- we have never had one ounce of trouble. The quick service restaurants can still accommodate any allergies, but I typically just look at the menus and see who can eat right off the menu, and we go to that restaurant.

If you have allergies, a special diet, or if you are celebrating something during your visit- I find it best to call and make those reservations. Then you can tell the cast member about your dietary needs, and they make a note of them. You can do that to an extent online- but they may not have all allergies/ diets there.

I have listed our favorite restaurants below. We tend to enjoy the healthier meals so we can enjoy some sweets (dole whip for my guys- it’s vegan, and a churro for momma). I would love to help answer any specific questions you may have about dining at Disney! Just leave a comment here- or shoot me a message on one of my social media accounts!
