Welcome to my blog. I use this little space to chronicle the adventures of the Noel family!

All About Disney: part 3

All About Disney: part 3

Today I am continuing my All about Disney series. This week I want to talk to you about something you may not have thought of. It is so fun, budget friendly, kids love it, and it is so relaxing. Yes, I did say relaxing and Disney in the same paragraph. We have done this several times, and it gets better every time we do it. Are you ready?

Go stay on Disney property without going to the parks.

Yep, that’s right. Stay at a Disney resort hotel, and don’t set foot into a park.

During February break, Bryan had to be in Orlando for work, and we decided to stay on property and make a vacation out of a work trip. We stayed at pop century, went swimming, to the pool, the arcade, ate in the restaurant at the resort, went to Disney Springs, visited other resorts, took naps, etc. It was awesome! We were so relaxed, and the kids did great!

Here is the thing- the resorts have so much to do. Even the value resorts have multiple pools, a playground, and an arcade.

plenty of photo ops at the resorts as well!

We stayed at Pop Century, which is a value resort, and the rooms were just renovated so they were amazing! Each morning, before it got hot, we went to the playground and let Dex run around to his heart’s content. We would go back and he would play in the shower or the bath, then we would go eat lunch, take a walk, then a nap. When we got up, we went swimming, then got ready for dinner and went to either Disney Springs or another Resort for dinner.

We went to the gluten free/nut free/ dairy free bakery at Disney Springs almost every night

And I forgot to mention- you can even go to character meals at the resorts if you want to add a little more disney magic to your trip! We decided to go to Chip and Dale’s campfire singalong at Ft. Wilderness instead of doing a character meal. It is free and there is a singalong around the campfire, photos with Chip and Dale and a movie is shown on a large screen. There is a food truck selling s’mores kits and dinner, but you can bring your own as well. So fun!

One of us does not like characters...I'll give you one guess who!

Below I have listed our favorite Disney Stay-cation resorts for you to check out!

value: pop century

The rooms have all been refurbished recently, and they are amazing! There is also a large walkway around a lake for walking/running, and you can walk to the art of animation resort to eat, play on the playground, or swim as well. There are several pools at pop century as well. The 80’s building is our favorite to stay in, of course!

moderate- port orleans riverside (our very favorite resort)

Port orleans riverside is gorgeous and quiet. There are several pools, running and walking trails, movies under the stars, campfires, playground, and bike and surrey rentals and trails.

deluxe- wilderness lodge or animal kingdom lodge

There is so much to do at both of these resorts! At the Wilderness Lodge you can rent bikes, boats, go on fishing excursions, swim at one of two pools, and there are trails for walking and jogging.  At Animal Kingdom Lodge, you can watch the animals on the Savanna, play on the playground overlooking the savanna, swim in one of the pools, and enjoy campfires and movies under the stars.

We had the best time! And loved every minute of our Disney Stay-cation! There is much more to do on Property than just the parks!
