Lucky Mama's Retreat
Hey friends! It’s been a minute. I was traveling, then Bryan was traveling, and between work and 2 cute kiddos, and trying to catch up- blogging had to wait a week.
Last October, I had the opportunity to attend the Lucky Mama’s Retreat in Austin, Texas. I wrote about that weekend here. It was an incredible experience- and such a needed weekend. I connected with many friends that I had only known through instagram. During that retreat, we all started talking about having a reunion retreat. And Liz and Heather made it happen!
Not only did they make it happen, they made it happen in GORGEOUS Laguna beach, CA. I was so excited to visit one of my favorite places with some of my favorite mommas. We ate great food, did power yoga on the beach, put our toes in the sand, danced the night away and got very little sleep. But my very favorite thing was the conversations and connections with other moms who just get it. Having conversations about everything from IEPs to potty training to speech therapy, to helping our kids realize they belong. Sometimes we didn’t even speak- when the tears flowed, or we broke out in laughter so loud the whole beach probably heard us. Mama’s from all over the United States- who were all brought together by our kiddos with an extra chromosome. It’s like an amazing club that I get to be a part of- that no one really gets unless you are a part of it.
I am so thankful for my time away, even though I missed my boys something fierce. I was so glad to be home refreshed, renewed and a little sunburned. Can’t wait to see those friends again!
