Hi. I am Elizabeth.

Welcome to my blog. I use this little space to chronicle the adventures of the Noel family!

Fatherhood & How He Rocks It

Fatherhood & How He Rocks It

It sounds totally cliche to say that I loved Bryan so much more the day I saw him become a father. We had waited so long to become parents, and he had loved and supported me so well through all the ups and downs of our infertility and adoption journeys. He was the first one to say “we’ve got this” when we found out that Dex would be born with that extra magical chromosome. He loves our boys and is so very proud of them and shows them off to everyone. In honor of Father’s Day on Sunday, I want to share 5 ways he absolutely rocks this fatherhood thing.

  • He ALWAYS has time for them. No matter how exhausted he is after work, or traveling. He comes home and gives his all to his boys. You would never know that he can barely keep his eyes open. He also wants to spend time with them- not just when I need a break, he truly carves out time just for he and the boys to spend together.

  • He “parents” just as much as I do. There is nothing that happens with or for our kids that he is not a part of. There aren’t things that are “my job” as a mom. He does everything I do with the kids and sometimes even more!

  • He takes time to teach them on their level. I will admit- sometimes I don’t take the time to teach the kids something because I think they aren’t ready or it will frustrate them. Bryan always gives them the chance to learn something and does his best to get on their level.

  • He shows our boys so much affection. There are unending kisses, hugs, “I love you”, “I am proud of you” and “you’re the best” around our house. I so appreciate that he is loving and affectionate with our boys. We both want our boys to know that there is no weakness in showing someone how you feel.

  • He apologizes to our boys. This one is probably my favorite. He apologizes to our kids when he has done something wrong. Again, we want our boys to know the power of apologizing when you have wronged someone. And Bryan is such a great example of that- I learn from him in that as well. We are all about communication and communicating our feelings over here!

  • And one more- he shows them how to love Jesus, and be a leader in their homes one day.

I am so thankful that my boys have the best daddy in all the land to look up too. I am praying that they turn out just like him. There is no one else I would rather be on this crazy parenting journey with!

Happy Father’s Day, B!

You are the best!
