I know it seems like I have fallen off the planet, but things have been nuts! Little life update- Bryan has been traveling, Dex ended up in the hospital with his asthma, and I was hit with an awful cold. I got behind on work, and needed to take care of my boys and myself, so blogging didn’t happen.
But I am back, and in full birthday mode! Our Dex turns 7 on Monday, and I am still in denial. He didn’t want a party this year, so instead we are having friends over for dinner on Monday, and on Thursday we are taking him to a Braves game and his first concert (Avett Brothers, of course). He is so excited about special time with mommy and daddy and his favorite band. Gus will stay at my parents so we can focus on our biggest boy.
We had special shirts made for the Braves game by my friend Megan. You can find her at Dogwood Blossom Designs on Facebook. The shirts are so soft and high quality. They are exactly what I wanted, and can’t wait to wear them to the game and concert. We will also be taking his noise cancelling headphones to the game/concert. We got field passes so he could see the Avetts up close, but know that it may be too loud. We love these headphones that I got on Amazon!
In addition to the Braves game, we got Dex the book, God’s Very Good Idea. I can’t wait to read it to him. It is an awesome story about how God made everyone and loves everyone no matter their differences.
Dex has requested a funfetti cake with sprinkles, so that is what he shall have. He wants to help me with it, which I love! I will be making this recipe from Sally’s Baking addiction. I am excited to try a homemade funfetti cake! Crossing my fingers that it turns out.
Every year on their birthdays, I get out photos and we talk about their birth stories and their birthdays throughout the years. I love printing photos through social print studio. I can print directly through the app, the quality is SO GOOD. I have their photos hanging all over my house. They are my go-to for printing photos.
Anyway, I am off to order as many balloons as will fit in my van, buy the ingredients for that funfetti cake and get ready to spoil my boy on his special day!
Happy Weekend, Friends!
