Hi friends! Happy Friday! For those of you who have sent your kiddos back to school, may your coffee be strong and your bedtime be early!
Today is going to be short and sweet- since this week has been crazy.
I wanted to share with you what I bought from the Nordstrom sale- now don’t zone out on me here. I know if you follow any fashion bloggers, you have been hearing about the sale for weeks. I got 2 pairs of kid’s shoes and some leggings. (I did have a giant wishlist, but the budget said no.)
I bought these adorable Nikes for my boys. They needed some good church shoes, and I can’t say no to black and white vintage looking shoes. Also- they had them in both the kids sizes. Woohoo! Matching their shoes for as long as they let me!
I also grabbed a pair of the Zella leggings. I had heard so much about these leggings, and all the words were true. They are amazing, comfortable, stay put, and are high rise! Insert Praise hands emoji. I am loving these leggings and you will probably see me in them at least 3 times a week.
This week was the start of my paleo journey. I am tired of feeling like my brain is in a fog, and sugar, gluten, and dairy are not friends with my arthritis. It hasn’t been super hard yet- that is until PMS hit. But I have stayed strong and I am already feeling better! One of my favorite condiments that I have been putting on all the things is the Primal Kitchens Chipotle Lime Mayo. That stuff makes the best tuna salad and egg salad, dip for sweet potato fries and topping for my turkey taco salad. I am not a mayo fan, but this just tastes like a spicy dip. So good!
Spindrift has been another lifesaver. When I have had a sweets craving, I will grab one of those and it will curb the craving. Thankfully I got the costco size box last week!
The last thing I want to share with you today is the book Supporting Positive Behaviors in Children and Teens with Down Syndrome. Y’all, I am on chapter 3 and I have highlighted the whole book. Dex hasn’t been having major behavior problems, but as he is getting older and his feelings and emotions are becoming more intense, he has a hard time expressing his needs. He “acts out” as a form of communication- this book has been golden in helping me understand how to help him communicate without a meltdown. Can’t wait to learn more as I read!
Well friends, we are looking forward to a relaxing weekend. We are introducing Dex to the Karate Kid movie, so it’s going to be an amazing weekend!
