Gus Gus is 2!
My Dearest Gus Gus,
I can not believe that you are two years old today. You are still such a tiny little thing, so it helps mommy stay in denial a little. You are still wearing 12 month clothes, but you can move at the speed of lightning. I have never seen a child crawl so fast, or get himself stuck in so many places. You have no fear whatsoever, which is terrifying for me to watch. Your momma likes to live on the safe side, and you, my tiny mouse, like to live dangerously.
You have the best personality. You are an easy boy, unless you are hungry or tired. Sorry to say, you get that from your momma. You are a little extrovert. You want to be with people all the time. You are the only extrovert in our family. You will do anything to be near your big brother. You guys have the sweetest relationship and I LOVE watching you two together.
You have come a long way from the tiny 5 pound baby your daddy and I met in the NICU when you were a week old. From the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew that you were a fighter. You have overcome so many things in your short two years- being born early, feeding difficulties, CHD, pulmonary hypertension, reflux, RSV, pneumonia, surgeries and LONG hospital stays- but you were stronger than all of those. I am amazing by you little one.
You love reading books, being close to your daddy and Dex, rolling the ball, playing with cars, playing with the play kitchen, cruising all over the house, dancing to the Beatles, taking a bath, standing on your own, climbing, and getting into everything. You are signing eat (of course) and please (so polite). You say momma, dada, bubba (Dex), and you wave Hi and Bye. You are also great at following directions when you want to. :) You are also SO close to walking. I can’t even believe it.
Your favorite thing ever is food- you are a Noel afterall. You love most everything we give you, but your favorites are hot dogs, guacamole, hummus, taco meat, bananas and waffles. You are not a fan of sweets as much, but you will never turn down food. You are so close to drinking from a sippy cup, even though you drink from an open cup like a champ.
You are not really a fan of your car seat, having your diaper changed, or being in one place for a long time. We like to call you our mover and shaker.
You are loved by so many. From the day you were born, you have impacted so many lives- your birth parents, the NICU staff, me and your daddy, your big brother, your grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, our church family, your therapists, and pretty much anyone else who has ever met you. You have been prayed for by so many throughout your two years of life. Your life is such a testimony of God’s faithfulness and healing power. You are for sure, our little miracle.
I am so excited to celebrate you today with food and cake and trips to the Disney store, and the airport to look at planes. I still can’t get over the fact that God allowed me to be your mommy.
I am so excited to see what the next year holds for us, my sweet boy!
I love you Augustus Worth Wesley Noel.
